Chromaru: Logic Puzzles, Lit in Color

Chromaru is now available on iOS and Android. It is a relaxing logic puzzle you solve with color: a calm brain break where you light a dark stained-glass window, one pane at a time.

Three Rules. The Rest Is Reasoning.

Chromaru keeps the rules short:

  • Light every pane with a color.
  • Each outlined region uses its colors once. A region of three panes uses the first three colors.
  • Matching colors never touch, not even at corners.

There is no manual to read. Your first window is a tiny 3×3 board that teaches the rules move by move, and the palette only offers the colors that fit the region you selected. You learn by tapping.

4,000 Puzzles, Every One Fair

Every puzzle in Chromaru has exactly one solution, reachable by logic alone, and each one is checked before it ships. You never have to guess.

The library is split into six tiers: Flicker, Spark, Glow, Flare, Blaze, and Nova. They grow by the reasoning each puzzle asks for, not just by size, with boards running from the 3×3 teaching board up to 8×8.

A fresh daily puzzle arrives every day too. It is easier early in the week and toughest on Saturday, and it comes with a streak to keep glowing.

Think It Through in Color

  • Color notes let you pencil in the colors a pane might take.
  • Undo as far back as you like, or start over any time.
  • Assisted feedback warns you when a color touches its match, while Classic stays quiet until you find the contradiction yourself.
  • Your own records track your fastest time on every puzzle, award a trophy when you beat it, and keep a progress page on your device.

Calm by Day, Glowing at Night

Chromaru has light and dark modes, and the window always glows. Optional shapes on every color and a color-blind friendly palette are one tap away in Settings or the pause menu. Play in portrait or landscape on phones and tablets; turn your phone on its side and the window takes the left, with the palette and controls beside it.

No Pressure, Fully Offline

There are no lives to lose, no hearts, and no time limit. A clock keeps your time for your own records, and you can pause or leave and come back whenever you like. Every puzzle, the daily, and your progress live on your device, with no account or sign-up.

All 4,000 puzzles and the daily are free. Ads support the game with a banner on the home screen and puzzle lists, an occasional ad after a finished puzzle, and an optional short video when you ask for a hint. No ad ever appears while you solve.
